Evandrus of Merinita

History

As with other magi of the Line of Quendalon, Evandrus was taken from his German family when he was young and placed among the fae. He reacted differently than many, though. He did not appreciate the lack of substance and true empathy. He himself cared too much for human life and about suffering. So he learned a great deal about the fae from his time among them, but he only chose to take the power he could from that understanding, never intending to become truly fae himself.

As he was trained, this did not dissuade him from the goals of the House. In fact, his goals coming out of apprenticeship as a member of the Neo-Mercurians lined up very nicely. He was only too happy to elevate the fae since he found good ways to use Faerie Magic in his own pursuits. He just wasn't so traditional a member of the Line of Quendalon. For a number of years he politicked while trying to improve at healing and making income via longevity rituals. During those years he also learned more of the Mysteries from within both the Line of Quendalon and the Neo-Mercurians. But to make a name for himself he had to be more than an underling.

Evandrus moved away from the Rhine Tribunal to gain a little more independence, though he remained tied to his House and the Neo-Mercurians. He felt this gave him a little more latitude in focusing on the healing magics he preferred. It also gave him a step up in seniority, whereas that could have taken a very long time in the Rhine. Helping start the charter house allowed for that yet once more. This time he would be one of the senior-most magi and a founding member of the covenant. He figured this would give him the best opportunities for his own pursuits while still being linked to his groups.
